Documents and books damage

Damage to books and documents requires special care. Trying to brush away soot can cause further damage, as can unfolding wet paper. TERS experts use state-of-the-art equipment to remove soot and other residue and to freeze-dry or hot-air dry wet documents and books.

Our technologists are experienced in reclaiming books, documents, and photographs and in removing contaminants. Our goal is to restore your valuables (either sentimentally or monetarily) to their original condition, or sometimes, even better!

Tips:

n Don't open or unfold wet paper
n Leave pictures in frames; do not remove glass.
n Try not to move anything after a fire.
n Don't wipe or brush soot.
n If you must move a book or document, do so carefully and use cotton gloves.
